Explosion as Chidori and Rasengan collide. What is Naruto’s choice?

In the explosion, Naruto grips Sasuke’s arm holding him within the tumult. A clone disappears and Naruto transforms into sage mode.
Naruto: I will stop you!
Sasuke looks on in determination: Words won’t stop me.
Naruto’s grip crushes Sasuke’s arm: I don’t plan to use words.
Sasuke grimaces in pain, locked on Naruto’s eyes. Suddenly, Naruto’s eyes transform into Itachi’s Mangekyo Sharingan.
Sasuke: What the?
The scene fades away and Sasuke and Naruto appear in an empty plane. The sharingan fades from Naruto’s eyes, which go blank, and Itachi appears. Sasuke is shocked.
Itachi: Sasuke… what have you done?
Sasuke: Brother…
Itachi: What have you become?
Sasuke: What you wanted me to be. I am an avenger, I shall avenge you and all the Uchiha clan.
Itachi: (shaking head) No, Sasuke. You cannot avenge me.
Sasuke: !?
Itachi: You killed me.
Sasuke: But… I…
Itachi: Do not concern yourself. It is as I wanted.
Sasuke: What do you mean? Why would you want to die!?
Itachi: You still do not understand. I needed you as an avenger. I needed you to be strong. I needed you to finish what I had started. I needed you to finish the destruction of the Uchiha Clan.
Sasuke: What?!?
Itachi: Listen to me, little brother. The Uchiha clan is one of death. They became a cursed people, doomed to violence, hate and destruction. They were a disease of the ninja world and Madara was the cause. The sharigan eye is a manifestation of the evils of the ninja world and only corrupts the soul. The mangekyo only amplified these traits and nearly lead to the destruction of peace. The formation of Konoha was a move by the first hokage to try and quell the endless violence. But Madara, driven by his eyes, worked to subvert this alliance. He did so again by driving the attack of the Nine-tailed fox on Konoha to remind the Uchiha of their history.
Sasuke: What are you saying?
Itachi: The Uchiha clan could never truly thrive in peace. Our clan… our father planned to take back power for the Uchiha. Such a move would lead to endless war and destruction. I would not allow that to happen – so I agreed to kill the clan, entrusting its future to you.
Sasuke: But why? Why would you have me kill you?!?
Itachi: Think, Sasuke. To do such a thing, I had to take on the mangekyo. I would have fallen to darkness and the cycle would not have ended. I hoped you, untouched by the Uchiha past, could break the curse of the Sharingan. But I see I was mistaken. Madara’s lies have filled you and your mangekyo is worse than mine. Sasuke… turn back from the darkness. Turn away from your eyes. Trust in Konoha. Trust in Naruto. Do not continue to avenge those who do not deserve it.
Sasuke: NO!! THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR CLAN!!! I CANNOT FORGIVE THEM!!
Itachi: You must, little brother. Do not trust in Madara. He is the cause of this; not them. (Itachi fades)
Sasuke: Itachi!
Itachi: I can do no more. This is the last time, little brother. It is up to you now.
The scene fades.
Naruto collapses to his knees. Sasuke is left shocked.
Sakura: The poison! It must have been transferred to Naruto!
Kakashi: Shit!
Sasuke, glancing over blankly: no… it… can’t be true…
Sasuke leaps away from Naruto.
Kakashi approaches Naruto and looks in the direction Sasuke left. Sakura tends to Naruto.
Sakura: I can stop it for now, but I need to get him back to Konoha.
Kakashi: Dammit…
